摘要
This paper aims to explore novice teachers' perceptions on Teaching and Learning (TnL) support they receive when they start their teaching career. The research was carried out on 30 novice teachers teaching at primary and secondary schools in Perlis. Data were collected using face-to-face interview with the research participants. The findings showed that novice teachers received support from experience teachers, mentors, colleague, excellent teachers and teachers from other parties. They received support in the forms of advice on teaching techniques, tips on classroom control, sharing of teaching aids, explanation on subject content, and guidance on the correct way to write Daily Lesson Plans. Findings also indicated that novice teachers also received support from School Improvement Specialist Coaches (SiSC+) and teachers form other schools. From the novice teachers' perceptions, they need support from various parties to improve their TnL quality in guiding using latest method in teaching and learning methods. Novice teachers' professional development programmes at the school level should be carried out more with the involvement of the relevant parties to ensure these novice teachers receive the necessary guidance for a quality TnL.
