Political representation and gender balances in Italy

Not only the mono-gender composition of political institutions is suitable to integrate the injury of the guaranteed rights, but also it produces a dysfunction in the democratic system. This condition appears through a double deficit, both in terms of representation and functionality. Thus, the gender equality becomes a parameter of significant legitimacy of the administrative action. In addition, the balanced involvement of both men and women in the decision-making procedures appears as a tool of guaranteed "functionality", intended to reach the best efficiency, impartiality and smooth running of the public action.
