摘要
A method of writing long-period fiber gratings and a model to explain light coupling between the fundamental mode and the cladding modes are presented. An athermal hermetic sealing approach is proposed to form hermetic sealing of the long-period fiber gratings. A low temperature glass solder is introduced to seal around the fiber. The sealing and optical performance test results are discussed.
