The Empirical Research on Relationship between Work Pressure and Work Performance of Township Civil Servant

摘要
In this study, we obtained 282 valid questionnaires from 300 civil servants which are taken is the investigation object from different rural areas of Hubei Province in the background of transformation of government functions. By using spss 13.0 statistical software for the data processing, we analyze the status of the township civil servants' job pressure by means of description statistics, and also analyze the relationship between job pressure and job performance through correlation analysis and regression analysis. The research results are as follows: (1) From the overall level of job pressure, the total score of job pressure is 4.197. The scores of career development (4.701) and job task (4.819) of the job pressure dimensions slightly higher than the median score 4, and those of dimensions interpersonal relationship (3.420) and role pressure (3.875) are lower than the median score 4. (2) The correlation coefficient between job pressure and job performance is 0.507**. (3) The regression results between four dimensions of job pressure and job performance are: job task (Beta=0.376***), interpersonal relationship (Beta=-0.252***), role pressure (Beta=-0.134*), and career development (Beta=-0.005). The research conclusions are as follows: (1) The overall level of township civil servants' job pressure is not high in China. (2) Job pressure has a significant positive impact on job performance for township civil servants in China. (3) In the four dimensions of job pressure (job task, interpersonal relationship, role pressure, and career development), the pressure from career development has no significant direct effect on the job performance for the township civil servants in China.
