摘要：

The habitat preferences of the spotted-necked otter Lutra maculicollis were determined in a catchment of the KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg, South Africa. Riverbank vegetation and human disturbance were the main factors determining the presence or absence of otters. Decrease in the use of islands and reeds in dams during the summer wet season was recorded; otters used rocky and tree-sheltered riverine habitat in the winter dry season.
