A ten-year follow-up study of one hundred twelve families with Huntington's disease illustrated the slow and insidious tempo of disease progression. Correlations between molecular biology data and clinical findings demonstrated extraordinary heterogeneity, even within a given family. The age at onset of motor disorders and dementia were correlated with the number of CAG repeats in the IT15 gene.
