摘要
Prior identification of speed bumps allows drivers and the car suspension system to respond before passing over them. This may prevent bad driving experience, vehicle damage and in the extreme case, accidents. This paper proposes a cost effective method of speed bumps detection and height estimation by using the Microsoft Kinect Sensor. 3D scene reconstruction is based on both the colour and depth images acquired from Kinect's RGB and IR cameras. In addition, a smart speed bump detector is trained to recognize speed bumps and finally extract its properties such as its height and distance from the Kinect sensor.
