摘要
Seventy-four specimens of maritime lichen, representing 22 species, were collected from seven localities in western Japan. Photobionts were isolated from their thalli and studied taxonomically. Fourteen species of Chlorophyta were isolated. Four species of algae-Trebouxia gigantea, T. higginsiae, T. impressa, and Elliptochloris bilobata-are reported for the first time from Japan. This is the first report on photobionts from maritime lichens in Japan. Salt tolerance of these species is discussed.
