A high-power high-voltage pulse generator based on reverse switch-on dynistors for an electrostatic precipitator power supply

摘要
A high-power generator supplying an electrostatic precipitator with high-voltage pulses of 26-kV peak value, 3.5-mu s in width, and 100-Hz maximum repetition rate, imposed on a de (base) voltage, is described. The generator includes a low-voltage unit with a switching element based on a high-current reverse switch-on dynistor (RSD), a step-up transformer with a saturable core, a high-voltage magnetic compression unit, a feedthrough capacitor blocking the de voltage of the precipitator and a unit for the pulse charge energy regeneration of the electrostatic precipitator capacitor, The generator was tested during smoke purification in a high-power electrostatic precipitator with an operating capacity of similar to 50 nF and a de voltage of similar to 50 kV.
