FRP tubes filled with concrete and subjected to axial loads, bending and combined loads

摘要
Concrete-filled fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) circular tubes provide effective structural members for a variety of applications including piles, columns, overhead sign structures and hydro poles. This paper discusses the behavior of concrete-filled Glass-FRP tubes under bending, axial compression and combined bending and axial compression. Test results of fifteen specimens are reported. Analytical models have been established to predict to behavior and have been used in a parametric study to examine the effect of fiber orientation of the FRP tubes, thickness of the FRP tube, the concrete compressive strength, and diameter of a central hole, which could be used to reduce the self-weight of the member.
