An efficient synthesis of constrained bicyclic peptidomimetics of (R)-Phe-Pro dipeptide is described, Such mimetics may provide an opportunity to develop inhibitors of thrombin possessing the desired pharmacological features. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
