摘要
In this present work, Transesterification process has been adopted for converting rice bran oil into rice bran biodiesel. The test samples were prepared from rice bran biodiesel (BD) blended with titanium oxide (TiO2) at different proportions of 50 ppm, 100 ppm, and 150 ppm by the ultrasonicator. An unmodified diesel engine employed for experimentation for all samples. The test samples prepared by volume as follows, BD20 (80 % Diesel + 20 % Biodiesel), BD20T50 (80 % Diesel + 20 % Biodiesel + 50 ppm TiO2), BD20T100 (80 % Diesel + 20 % Biodiesel + 100 ppm TiO2), BD20T150 (80 % Diesel + 20 % Biodiesel + 150 ppm TiO2). From the experimental results, it is observed that nano-additives gives affirmative influence on exhaust emissions of rice bran biodiesel blends on a single-cylinder diesel engine. TiO2 nano-additives acts as an oxidation catalyst during combustion thus CO, HC, NOx emissions which reduces effectively.
