摘要：

This paper analyzes the environmental management of solid waste in companies of the Industrial Polo of Manaus (PIM) from its actions in the management of solid waste, difficulties, observed advantages, treatment for effluents and water and, partnerships and policies of incentives for waste management. The data were obtained by means of a structured questionnaire applied in 18 PIM companies that have already undergone prior training in the supervision of the Manaus Free Zone (SUFRAMA) in the elaboration of a waste inventory. The results showed that companies consider environmental management as an important tool in the market, but still expect more government incentives to act more effectively in environmental management actions. There are difficulties in the implementation of public policies focused on the preservation of natural resources, and the environmental management adopted by the industries is still limited since there are environmental damage and problems in the surroundings of PIM.
