摘要
Oxide glasses have a good chemical stability in time, which led to the idea of using them as convenient matrix for the immobilization of hazardous wastes, as those who have an important content of heavy metals. In this paper, the results of the application of the optimal design method for oxide composition at glasses obtained with vitreous boro-silicate wastes that result mainly from pharmaceutical industry are presented. Based on the properties measured on the obtained glasses and on a mathematical programming model, optimal oxide composition, which assures the preestablished value of property of interest - thermal expansion coefficient, was calculated. There were also described the obtaining conditions of some glasses with vitreous boro-silicate wastes and sludge with nickel, resulted from processes of electrochemical deposition. The glasses are thermally characterized based on expansion diagrams. It is emphasized the way oxide composition correlates with the technological parameters of the obtained glass.
