Tragic women in contemporary Latin American cinema

In this article we propose to analyze the productivity of the tragedy, starting with Medea by Euripides and Seneca, in contemporary Latin American cinema. We are interested in studying, through the concept of profanation (Agamben), the new ways of representation of tragic poetic, their functions and resignifications as well as the representation that the films Asi es la vida and Medea propose in relation to women and maternity in contemporary Latin American societies.
