摘要
The application of web technologies to education poses both opportunities and challenges to foreign language teaching reform in China. The focus of the reform is to combine the modem technology with college English teaching to promote the language teaching and learning efficiency. This paper starts with the review of constructivist learning theories and essence of autonomous language learning. Then, it discusses the model of web-based autonomous foreign language learning from four aspects of creating autonomous learning atmospheres, cultivating autonomous leaning abilities, stressing interaction and cooperation, and reforming evaluation system. By doing so, the paper concludes that students should master autonomous learning strategies to achieve sustainable development in learning.
