Study of complex salts [Ru(NH3)5Cl][PtCl4] and [Ru(NH3)5Cl][PdCl4] • H2O and the products of their thermal decomposition

摘要
Double complexes [Ru(NH3)(5)Cl[PtCl4] and [Ru(NH3)(5)Cl][PdCl4] . H2O were synthesized and characterized by X-ray diffraction. It was shown that [Ru(NH3)(5)Cl][PtCl4] is isostructural to [Ir(NH3)(5)Cl][PtCl4] and has an orthorhombic unit cell with the parameters a = 16.549(10) Angstrom, b = 8.143(5) Angstrom, c = 9.441(5) Angstrom, V = 1272.3(1.0) Angstrom(3), space group Pnma, Z = 4, P-calcd = 2.916 g/cm(3). [Ru(NH3)(5)Cl] [PdCl4]. H2O is isostructural to [Rh(NH3)(5)Cl][PdCl4] . H2O and has the parameters a = 7.901(5) Angstrom, b = lOi974(8) Angstrom, c = 16.084(10) Angstrom, beta = 102.55(5)degrees, V = 1361.5(1.0) Angstrom(3), space group P2(1)/C, Z = 4, rho(calcd) = 2.380 g/cm(3). Thermal decomposition of the complexes under an inert atmosphere was studied. The X-ray diffraction parameters of the metallic powders obtained upon thermal decomposition of these compounds under an inert atmosphere and under hydrogen are presented.
