FE simulation for development of process design considerations - an industry case study

摘要：

FE simulation was conducted to investigate the failure of an impact backward can-extrusion process for the forming of a cartridge case, based on which different process-design concepts were developed and tested. The results showed that measures in either preform design, or forming sequence design, or tool design, may be taken to effect the process without failure; the "optimal" engineering-solution is that feasible technologically and economically.
