COMPARATIVE STUDY OF LEARNING APPROACHES IN UNDERGRADUATE COURSES OF CALCULUS

摘要
In the presented paper we would like to inform about the progress in our research focused on the use of the mathematical platforms and learning approaches of students in the calculus classes. As a continuation of our previously published contribution from INTED2014 we present results of questionnaire survey conducted in Canada, Portugal and the Czech Republic. In the preceding paper the cluster analysis of data obtained from undergraduate students from Edmonton and Porto has been shown. At present, we will learn more about the results of the survey carried out at the University of Hradec Kralove in the Czech Republic. In addition to the presentation of factor analysis, we will further determine if sets of data from particular countries are significantly different. Moreover, we would like to introduce our research focused on the use of the various web platforms for the assessment of mathematical knowledge (such as Maple T. A., WebAssign, MuchLearning) and our experiences in the context of students' approaches to learning and studying.
