Analysis of the development characteristics and dynamics of the wind power industry in the BoHai-Rim Region

摘要
In recent years, due to increasing environment protection measures and an insufficient energy supply, the wind power industry in China has developed rapidly. The BoHai-Rim Region, composed of Liaoning Province, Hebei Province, Shandong Province, Beijing, and Tianjin, has been found to have great wind energy resources and is one of the fastest-developing regions in the wind power industry in China. In 2006, there were 28 sets of built wind farms count, generating 838 kW, and a total engine capacity of 7.0x10(5) kW. The wind power industry in BoHai-Rim Region has developed rapidly. Using the pertinent socio-economic and wind power industry data from the BoHai-Rim Region, from 1997 to 2006, the development of the wind power industry in the BoHai-Rim Region were analyzed and show the rapid increase of the total installed capacity with its increased rates, the centralized spatial distribution, the great improvement of single-machine capacity and localization rate, and the extension of its industrial chain. By using the correlation analysis method, the high level of linear correlation has proved the correlation between the total installed capacity and the promulgated wind power policy effecting greatly the following:, urban construction land area, highway network density, special equipment manufacturing output value, industrial power consumption, household power consumption, total power consumption and the amount of industrial waste gas emission. The main reasons can be obtained as follows: 1) the encouragement from the strategic adjustment of national wind power industry; 2) the attraction of the region preponderant production factors; 3) the impetus from interaction between the heavy- power load and low-power supplement; 4) promotion with the double pressures of environmental pollution control initiatives and the high recognition of the need for environmental protection. The wind power industry in the BoHai-Rim Region will continues to grow rapidly with the implementation of the policies supporting renewable energy, the perfection of the wind power industry development system, and market gowth, which can offer powerful guarantees for the healthy development of a national grade manufacturing base in the BoHai-Rim region.
