摘要：
This paper investigates the students' views and teachers'views on speaking lessons in the context of teaching English to non- English majors at a university in China. The research focuses on the speaking lessons and makes a comparison of the students' views and teachers'views, aiming to find what happens in the speaking lessons and the similarities and differences in the students'and the teachers' views. The method of semi-structured interview was carried out. The findings revealed that both the students and the teachers value speaking in English teaching and learning and also identified some similarities and differences of the students'views and teachers'views on the speaking lessons.
