摘要
Social entrepreneurship is one of the efforts needed in getting as many as possible social innovations for the purpose of solving social problems with measures that are both appropriate and ethical respectively. Universities at some points provide entrepreneurship skills to their students so as to prepare the students on setting up their own businesses instead of depending and relying on getting paid jobs in their chosen industries. However, Social entrepreneurship is different from traditional entrepreneurship. Social entrepreneurship does not look at the profit only, but focuses on the impact of business to the society while on the other hand, traditional entrepreneurship deals with the implementation of such ideas to do business and get more profit. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the understanding of the importance of social entrepreneurship in higher education via a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach adopted from Kitchenham (2004). This paper offers systematic investigation into the importance and approaches of social entrepreneurship in higher education using extant literature as the basis of analysis and discussion. The importance of social entrepreneurship in higher education can produce graduates that have significant knowledge and skills of being a social entrepreneur as well as have relevant disciplinary knowledge and skills, ethics and morality. There are many approaches that are being used by the universities to help these students.
