摘要
The study examines the Islamic perspective of Islamic environmental sustainability based on the holy text - the Qur'an, and the sayings of the prophet (peace be upon him) - the hadith. The paper conducts a thorough review of the above two texts and presents the Islamic perspective of the behaviour expected from humans to address environmental sustainability issues. It also attempts to present the duties and responsibilities desired of human beings towards having a self sustaining environment that will be an ideal place for the future generations too. The presentation of the paper is such that it will act as a trigger for further research in this challenging and marvellous area.
