摘要
We use the proprietary volume-integral code, VIC-3D (c), to develop a numerical model of microstructural noise in a titanium-like crystal of hexagonal symmetry with random conductivity distributions, and then apply the model to solve inverse problems in which the size of a surface-breaking flaw is estimated in the presence of the noise generated by the random conductivity. The crucial role of sensitivity parameters and other 'estimation metrics' in assessing the quality of the inversion will be discussed.
