Calculation of whole-body organic dose in brain tumor treatment by boron neutron capture therapy

摘要
Calculation of whole-body organic dose was carried out using Monte Carlo code MCNP for a brain tumor patient in boron neutron capture therapy. The ICRU phantom model was used for the calculation. A maximum dose of 2 Gy was calculated in the head and other organ dose except an eye (0.4 Gy) were much smaller than their tolerance dose when irradiation of thermal neutron fluence of 5x10(12) ncm(-2) corresponding to the physical dose of 12 Gy for the tumor containing a B-10 concentration of 30 ppm.
