摘要
Physical and chemical properties of soybean oil and rape oil methyl esters are close to diesel fuel. Therefore those blends are used an alternative fuels recently. Aim of this experimental study is to investigate variations of performance and emission of the alternative biodiesel fuels. Normal diesel fuel and alternative biodiesel fuels mentioned above were tested on a 4 cylinder 4 strokes direct injection diesel engine. According to the results, the highest engine performance was obtained with diesel fuel and soybean and rape oil methyl esters gave lower performance respectively. The lowest smoke level and CO emission was recorded with rape seed oil methyl esters. However, NO(x) emission with diesel fuel is lower comparing with the other biodiesel fuels.
