MoS2 and MoO2 loaded Carbon Microfibers as Anode Materials for Lithium-Ion and Sodium-Ion Batteries

摘要
The present work focuses on the Forcespinning (FS) of MoO2/PAN and MoS2/PAN precursor solutions for the mass production of MoO2/C and MoS2/C composite fibers as anode materials for lithium-ion and sodium-ion batteries. The loading of active material in the composite microfibers involved several trials to achieve the optimum conditions for the Forcespinning of the polymer/ceramic precursors. Precursors solutions with different concentrations of MoO2/PAN and MoS2/PAN were Forcespun into microfibrous mats and subsequently stabilized in air at 280 degrees C and calcined at 700 degrees C under Argon atmosphere. The MoO2/C and MoS2/C composite fiber anodes exhibited acceptable and stable cycling performance with a discharge capacity of 300-400 mAhg(-1) after 100 cycles at 100 mAg(-1). The simple processing method of MoO2/C and MoS2/C composite fibers and corresponding electrochemical performance make them promising candidates for next generation and cost effective flexible binder-free anodes for Lithium-ion and Sodium-ion batteries.
