[(PPh3)(2)Ru(CH3CN)(3)Cl][BPh4] has been found to catalyze the selective reduction of double bonds in alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones with high conversions when formic acid is the hydrogen donor. (c) 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
