Structural performance evaluation of rubberised concrete beams with micro-reinforcement

摘要
The paper presents the results of an experimental study conducted to examine the effectiveness of pretreated rubber shreds along with steel fibres in enhancing the strength and deformation capacity of concrete beams. A total of seven beams of size 150 mm x 250 mm in cross - section with a total length of 3000 mm were cast and tested. Out of seven beams, six beams were rubberised concrete beams with micro - reinforcement. The variables included dosage of rubber shreds and volume fraction of steel fibres. All the beam specimens were subjected to four-point bending test in a loading frame. The results show that the rubberised concrete beams with micro-reinforcement exhibit increased strength, deformation capacity and ductility.
