摘要：
The latest Teaching Requirements on College English Course indicates that "the teaching objective of college English is to cultivate the comprehensive proficiency in applying English, especially the listening and speaking competence". Therefore, it is urgent to do researches on how to apply language teaching theories to improve students' language communication proficiency. Considering those problems in current college English teaching and the development of lexical chunks, the paper analyzes the application of lexical chunks in the teaching of listening and speaking in college. By comparison with the traditional teaching, it summarizes the positive effects of the application of lexical chunks in the teaching of listening and speaking in college.
