摘要
Excitotoxicity is associated with various neurodegenerative diseases, among which Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson disease (PD) are the typical diseases. AD is a representative degenerative disease with clinical characteristics of senile plaques (SPs), neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) and neuronal loss. Excitotoxicity has been considered as a mechanism of AD pathogenesis, which may induced by excessive accumulation of glutamate.
