摘要
The article is the result from a qualitative state-of-the-art research project and aimed to analyze how student engagement in Higher Education has been addressed in the last six years. Based on descriptors "engajamento estudantil", "student commitment" and "student engagement", the results revealed that engagement is focused on different aspects of permanence and success in university education, as follows: stimulation to pursue studies, such as the pleasure from the intellectual challenge experienced, the good relationship with colleagues and teachers, the satisfaction with the program organization and its infrastructure, and the good perception about future career prospects. The article points to the need for further studies about the impact of the teacher-student relationship on student engagement.
