A low-power low-voltage OTA-C sinusoidal oscillator with more than two decades of linear tuning range

A low power, low voltage OTA-C sinusoidal oscillator based on a class AB linear transconductor is proposed. For a tuning voltage range from 5mV to 500mV, the oscillation frequency changes more than two decades (from 200 kHz to 21.5 MHz). The amplitude is controlled by the transconductor nonlinear characteristic. The circuit operates at a 2V supply voltage with only 1.52 mW of maximum quiescent power consumption. The oscillator has been laid out using a 0.8 mum CMOS technology.
