A new thermographic methodology for 'on-site' thermal diffusivity determination

摘要
A new thermographic technique for measuring the thermal diffusivity of solids is here presented. The main advantage of this technique is that it can be easily used for 'on-site' applications and not only in a laboratory environment Specifically, this technique is non-destructive, non-contact single-sided, and can be implemented by using transportable devices as an IR camera and a high power lamp. In this work measurement of thermal diffusivity were conducted at room temperature on ancient building bricks. The results were compared to those obtained using the laser flash technique.
