摘要
Indonesia's largest source of power generation comes from steam power plant. This paper discusses Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) as an alternative for steam power plant system design. ORC has Rankine Cycle as a cycle but use organic working fluid as a replacement for water. Majority, ORC's manufacturer use R245fa as working fluid. In this paper, R245fa will be compared with R141b, R1233zd as alternatives for working fluid. Simulation comparison between three refrigerants was implemented under a design of Rankine cycle using evaporator, and heat exchanger as additional components in ORC. Comparing the maximum cycle thermal efficiency, and maximum output electrical power, there is only slightly difference with R245fa as the highest. Afterwards, it will also show the optimization of ORC by maximize pressure, temperature on R245fa. Environmental factor will be supporting factor to choose working fluid for ORC system.
