Financial Education in Mathematics Textbooks of the Final Years of Elementary School: Analysis of a Collection

摘要
In this paper, based on a Master's Dissertation, we present a brief discussion about Financial Education (EF), as well as the first results found in the analysis of a collection of Mathematics textbooks, approved by PNLD (2017), in the search for activities that have potential to work with School Financial Education based on the Critical Mathematics Education (EMC), proposed by Skovsmose (2014). We analyze the Financial Education activities found in the books according to the learning environments. In addition, we analyze the teacher's manual in order to observe the orientations provided for the activities. We found 54 activities in the books for the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade only, and most of the activities were categorized as environment 3 (semi-reality and exercise). The teacher's manual, in general, contributes little to guide the work possibilities of the activities. In our opinion it is important to include a discussion about EF in mathematics textbooks, since this topic is not yet mandatory in the school curriculum.
