Surface Plasmon Resonance Based Carbon Monoxide Sensor Utilizing ZnO Grating

摘要
We propose ZnO grating/Au film based SPR sensor for the detection of carbon monoxide. Numerical simulations based on rigorous coupled-wave analysis (RCWA) are performed to analyze the performance of the sensor. Grating depth of the sensor has also been optimized for quality factor. With optimized grating depth, we could achieve the quality factor of 0.21 per ppm. We also show that quality factor can further be enhanced to 0.29 per ppm by using Ag film underneath ZnO grating.
