摘要
Redundant power sources in a main-tic-main (MTM) configuration with an automatic transfer scheme (ATS) and retransfer scheme (RTS) provide reliable operation with minimal power interruption. The application of intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) and IEC 61850 Generic Object Oriented Substation Event (GOOSE) messaging brings faster, more reliable, and more economical operation to the power industry. This paper discusses the main operation schemes of an MTM configuration using IEC 61850. ATS and RTS logics are presented in detail and practical recommendations are provided by taking industrial requirements into consideration.
