Strategic management in small and medium enterprises in Mozambique

摘要
The article aims to analyze the strategic management adopted by SMEs in Mozambique, in addition to investigating how these companies develop strategically. Most of the SM Es in Mozambique are not structured to have a sustainable strategic management, adapting to the market in a reactive way. Most of these companies are not capable of developing strategies that give them a sustainable competitive advantage in the market in which they operate. The article was prepared from a qualitative approach, with a descriptive scope, using documentary review as a collection technique, and the data search was carried out in Scielo, Dialnet, EBSCO, Elsevier, Emerald, Scopus, Google Scholar, Science Direct and Conricyt. The results of the investigation indicate that the growth in the number of SM Es in Mozambique is not satisfactory, in addition, most of the SM Es are currently adopting the maintenance or diversification strategy to avoid their disappearance in the market. Likewise, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, SMEs in Mozambique seek to develop their businesses by adopting reactive strategies, namely the introduction of electronic commerce. It is concluded that the SWOT analysis tool is the most suitable for SM Es due to its ease of use.
