摘要
This paper demonstrates a combined control system for grid connected Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based wind turbine and few water electrolyzers connected to the output of this wind turbine. DFIG is getting popularity for modern high power and variable speed wind farms. Renewable hydrogen is a modern concept to minimize the cost of production of hydrogen, which is usable in fuel cell. The abundant wind energy can be used to produce hydrogen by electrolysis of water. As the wind speed is fluctuating in nature, the output power is also fluctuating which can cause serious trouble in power system operation. In this system the grid and the electrolyzers share the generated power from the DFIG in such a way that the output fed to the grid is smoothed. Again as the water electrolyzers should not be operated in fractional power and to maintain average operation cycle for each unit to maximize their longevity, proper switching is necessary. Thus a new switching control technique is also proposed. Performance of the system and production of hydrogen from the electrolyzers has been simulated and analyzed using PSCAD (TM) program.
