September's announcement of a 14% rise in UK gas prices is further evidence that the country's gas-based future energy policy energy may be flawed, Energy consultant Hugh Sharman analyses the Government's projections for falling fuel prices and concludes they seem increasingly over-optimistic-and that clean-coal and nuclear generation need to be given greater priority.
