On the Problems and Responsibility Positioning of Stakeholders in China's Rural Tourism Development

With the development of tourism in China, rural tourism has given rise to many problems in general pubic, which attracted much attention of both academics and practitioners. The problems in rural tourism development are mainly embodied in three aspects i.e. economy, social culture and environment. These issues are related to the interests of various stakeholders in rural tourism. Economically, the blind development, rough operation as well as uneven benefit distribution will have perverse effects on the development of rural tourism. The lack of honesty and cultural alienation will influence the development of rural tourism from the socio-cultural aspect. Environmentally speaking, the absence of environmental awareness and environmental damage behavior will against the sustainable development of rural tourism. Based on the perspective of Corporate Social Responsibility, this research will position the responsibility of the core stakeholders in the development of rural tourism, including the government, local residents, tourists and tourism enterprises and provide the targeted suggestions for each stakeholder.
