An object-oriented implementation of a discrete event trainer simulation

This paper discusses the design, implementation and testing of an object-oriented Simulation Engine capable of producing Knowledge Based simulations. The Simulation Engine provides a high-level Lisp-like script language for describing the process being simulated. As a detailed example, a Kaymr continuous digester has been simulated. The Simulation Engine is made up of four distinct objects which have been implemented as individual programs in a Windows operating system. The result is an easy to use, cost effective solution to the problem of creating training simulations for industrial processes.
