This study was set out to examine the nature and the incidence of injuries in skiing and snowboarding. Although Greece is not known as "winter" country, the popularity of winter sports has recently increased. The hospital where injured were treated is far away from ski run. As a matter of fact is close to the sea Using our data collection instrument, 141 injured were recorded by the Emergency Department Injury Surveillance System and were diagnosed by the emergency orthopedist and surgeons department in Asklipieion Voula's Trauma Hospital which is one hospital that participating in the study. Falling was the most common mechanism of injury. Most accidents have happened in skiing than in snowboarding during weekend. In our study fracture constitutes 13%. 50% percent of the admissions to hospital were on account of knee injuries.
