Clarified water recovery from the white water loop of a recycled fiber-based newsprint paper machine

摘要
The performance of the white water clarification system is of paramount importance to the safe operation of a recycled fiber based high-speed newsprint paper machine in a low effluent mill. As proposed by Kvaerner Hymac, Aylesford Newsprint Ltd. decided to instal a two-stage disc filter system in the white water loop of their new paper machine. After some basic considerations, the system realized in Aylesford is described in this article. It continoues with an outline of the decision making process; finally, the results obtained in practice are reported.
