In situ intercalative polymerization of poly(methyl methacrylate)/clay nanocomposites by γ-ray irradiation

摘要
Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)/clay nanocomposites was prepared by in situ intercalative polymerization initiated by gamma-ray irradiation. The degree of dispersion and the intercalation spacing of these nanocomposites were investigated with the Xray diffraction (XRD) and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), respectively. The thermal stabilities of the samples were studied by the thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). (C) 2003 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
