The kinetics of interpenetrating polymer network (polyurethane-polystyrene) formation in the presence of compatibilizing agents

摘要
The kinetics of the simultaneous formation of constituents of semi-interpenetrating polymer networks based on crosslinked PU and linear PS in the presence of compatibilizing additives (ethylene glycol monomethacrylate, oligourethane dimethacrylate, oligobutadinediol rubber, oleic acid) were studied. The formation kinetics of PU and PS network constituents was shown to depend on the chemical nature of the compatibilizers, which can interact in different manners with the components of the network constituents and can alter the kinetics of their formation and the microphase separation in the system. It was found that 1.8-10 wt % ethylene glycol monomethacrylate and 20 wt % oligourethane dimethacrylate precluded microphase separation in the system.
