Since Prehistory, several objects have been made of hard materials of animal origin (bone, antler, ivory, horn, shell), highlighting ivory among them because it is an exotic material. In this work we analyse a set of combs of ivory and wood from settlements of the Second Iron Age in the Iberian Peninsula. Their study has offered a new vision about these objects, whose formal and ornamental patterns show its local manufacturing in a few places from where they would spread towards distant areas. Besides, the evidences about the context and the chronology show new reading codes to approach artisans and for the interpretation of users in gender key
