A two-tier architecture to handle number portability and IN-service interaction

摘要：
The introduction of number portability will change network architecture in a way, that network intelligence will be implemented by a two-tier architecture. The upper tier will handle value added services such as provided by IN in multivendor configurations. The lower tier will introduce number portability along with gateway and security functions. It will handle every call in the network. This paper describes a solution for the handling of IN service interactions in the portability layer.
