Interactive Laboratory Information Management System Based on WeChat

Experimental teaching is an important part of college education, especially in engineering colleges. The process management of experimental teaching and the statistic analysis of the laboratory data are complicated and time-consuming. To solve the above problem, this paper develops an interactive laboratory information management system by utilizing emerging technologies such as big data, cloud computing and the Internet of Things. Based on the rich experience of experimental teaching and management of our National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, the system is designed to incorporate four functional modules. They are experimental teaching management, experimental equipment management, laboratory open management, communication and interactive management, respectively. Two years of practical operation shows that the system broadens the time and space of the experiment, improves the resource utilization and openness of the laboratory, standardizes the laboratory daily management, provides a good interactive platform for teachers and students, and most important of all, facilitates the statistic analysis of kinds of data. The interactive laboratory information management system adequately explores the functions of the laboratory and significantly improves laboratory operation efficiency.
